Description:
The DeKalb County School District is seeking dedicated parents/guardians and teachers to serve on their school's 2026–2027 Principal Advisory Council (PAC). Whether you're passionate about student success, improving communication, strengthening school programs, or ensuring every voice is heard, your perspective is valuable.
The candidate declaration period is open now through Friday, September 4, 2026.
If you are currently serving on PAC and your term ends on September 30, 2027, you do not need to submit a declaration this year.
Why serve on PAC?
Principal Advisory Council members play an important role in helping schools thrive by:
- Advising the principal on school priorities and improvement efforts.
- Reviewing and providing input on the school's Continuous School Improvement Plan.
- Serving as a bridge between families, school staff, and the community.
- Promoting open communication, collaboration, and shared decision-making.
- Participating in the selection process for the school principal when vacancies occur.
Your experience, ideas, and commitment can help create a stronger learning environment for every student. You do not need to have previous leadership experience—just a desire to work collaboratively and make a positive difference.
Please consider taking this important step to support your school. We encourage parents/guardians and teachers from every school to run for election and help ensure that every school has a strong, diverse, and engaged Principal Advisory Council.
Thank you for your continued commitment to the students and schools of DeKalb County.
