Our Library Media Center is a centralized collection of a wide variety of print and non-print materials selected to support the instructional program and meet the educational, social, vocational, aesthetic, and personal needs of students. Here you and your students can conduct research (please write down your assignment to provide the media specialist with clear information), browse, work independently and in groups, participate in special events, easily locate and check out materials, learn media skills, view visuals, and prepare learning and instructional materials.

We sincerely hope that you will make visiting the Library Media Center a habit. It is an exciting place to be and can enrich your life immeasurably. We strongly encourage you to acquire, if you have not already done so, a public library card and make use of the many resources and services offered by DeKalb’s fine public libraries.
LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
HOURS OF OPERATION

Our Library Media Center is open from 8:15 A.M. – 3:50 P.M. Students may come at any time between 8:15 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. with a pass if they have an assignment from their teacher. Since we operate an open library concept, students are free to come in at any time; however, teachers need to accompany more than four students at a time. If you need to bring your entire class, please let the media specialist know in advance so that arrangements can be made.
RULES FOR VISITING THE MEDIA CENTER
Students may come to the Library Media Center in the morning and during lunch with a signed pass. Each pass must contain the student’s first and last name, the teacher’s signature, and the reason for the student's visit to the Library Media Center. A group of no more than four students may come for group study without the teacher with a signed pass.
